Strengthen Your Body With Exercise Balls

You might have seen them in the gym or fitness store - colorful, attractive balls beckoning you to use them, if only you knew how.

Exercise balls can actually be used in a wide variety of ways, from relieving of back ache, balance training, to muscle strengthening and toning and even as a support for yoga and pilates routines.

Also known as the Swiss Ball (they were originally created by the Swiss for therapy for newborns and infants), exercise balls are a creative way to exercise, with one of the main benefits that it helps to exercise more muscles than what you normally get with flat floor exercise. This is due to the user constantly and actively trying to remain balanced while using them. Because of this, they are sometimes used to exercise the abdominal and back muscles, sometimes known as the core muscles.

Today most good gyms have exercise balls available for use and there might even be classes incorporating them into their fitness routines. Because exercising with them would result in adjustment of balance of the spine, exercise balls are also sometimes used to treat back pains and spinal disorders.

Exercise balls can also be a great addition to any home gym. Not only can they be used for a wide variety of exercises, they are also durable and provide good support for your body. Since they come in all colors and sizes, you should have no problem finding one that suits your needs and matches your home decor. They are also easy to store and do not require much maintenance.
